It’s just after 1am on the eve of my birthday and I’m listening to Kid Ink’s No Strings while multi-tasking—I’m going through Pinterest so I can make a collage for my Instagram feed. I’m hoping this is the prelude mood for what’s to come when I turn 24 because I am so at peace—I’m happy and in my element and I’m smiling!
Today started off beautifully for me. After enduring 10 days of feeling sluggish (thank you periods) and having intense academic stress—let’s not forget this heat wave—I finally woke up feeling good! The air was cooler outside and I’d been up since 3am so I really had time to get a lot done.
I think I took about two blogging breaks back to back from June/ July. During that time, I had a lot on my plate regarding family, and I also found myself experiencing panic/ anxiety attacks from the things I’d buried inside instead of dealt with, along with my college work load and the worry about not graduating on time.
You know how they say that once you stop believing in coincidence, your life starts making so much sense? Well, something stalked the heck out of me on my social medias until I gave in and the results have been beautiful.
When I was a child, I used to have this reoccurring dream about myself flying in this beautiful, very green garden of some sort with someone I’d never met in awakened life. I can’t tell you if they were a boy or a girl, but they held my hand whenever I had this dream, to ensure I wouldn’t fall into the river below where sometimes, crocodiles were swimming in the clearest of waters.
We’ve made it to yet another month and I’m honestly very thrilled to be free of my college stress for at least a few weeks to get back into the swing of blogging and focusing my energy on my other passions.
When I was growing up and my friends and I would find ourselves experiencing something a little strange, they were all quick to say “it’s a sign” and I took on that little phrase without a clue about what that actually meant.
One of my recent blog posts had to do with how thoughts become things. A lot of people don’t realise the power of words so I thought to speak about affirmations as one of the other ways in which you can quickly manifest whatever you want (while also making use of methods such as visualisation and gratitude).
You’re probably sighing deeply from the title because you’re either a sceptic when it comes to love and/ or the Law of Attraction and you’ve already emotionally prepared yourself for another lonely Valentine’s Day, or you’re simply curious and want to give this a shot, or find out if this is click bait because maybe it turns out, when you get to the end of this post, that I’ll be sitting on my couch this year, once again, snuggled up with my mom while we watch some of her favourite TV shows like it’s another ordinary night, only this time, I bought loads of chocolate.
IT’S THE MONTH OF LOVE!
For a lot of people, February is just a drag because it means that the shops are stocking up on Valentine’s day things to sell to you and you’re reminded quite bluntly that you’re the single friend while everyone has plans for February 14th and all you have, for yet another year, is your TV and a box of tissues (you could even blame my fellow Scorpios for this because apparently we created this lovely day to scam everyone into conceiving more Scorpios. I love this idea better). I really want to say that I feel your pain and that we can all virtually hold hands around an imaginary fire and sing some anti-love songs but, firstly, I’m here with a lot of self-love posts lined up for you and secondly, I’m manifesting a Valentine’s day date so I can’t cry with you this year. Sorry.
