One of the lessons that being single has taught me is the importance of self-love. When you go a while without being romantically involved with someone, you have no choice but to focus on yourself and on how you can grow while you wait for the right person to come along.
My Law of Attraction journey has since taught me that there is no such thing as coincidence. You are always at the right place at the right time and, in that time, whatever you come across (be it through whichever of your senses) is simply a message the Universe has been meaning to give to you— you are at the perfect place and in the perfect state to receive. That’s something, isn’t it?
IT’S THE MONTH OF LOVE!
For a lot of people, February is just a drag because it means that the shops are stocking up on Valentine’s day things to sell to you and you’re reminded quite bluntly that you’re the single friend while everyone has plans for February 14th and all you have, for yet another year, is your TV and a box of tissues (you could even blame my fellow Scorpios for this because apparently we created this lovely day to scam everyone into conceiving more Scorpios. I love this idea better). I really want to say that I feel your pain and that we can all virtually hold hands around an imaginary fire and sing some anti-love songs but, firstly, I’m here with a lot of self-love posts lined up for you and secondly, I’m manifesting a Valentine’s day date so I can’t cry with you this year. Sorry.
After spending the last twelve months counting down to the end of it, we begin the cycle all over again in 2019.
A lot of the time, people get caught up in asking and asking to fulfil their materialistic desires and I’ve realised that this is a habit that some people have, not just towards the Universe/ God but towards other people too.
The year is almost coming to an end and more than anything, I am so excited to be stepping into my birthday month to reflect on my growth over the last 12 months. I’ve looked forward to this time since it was this time last year, and while I’ve been counting down the months to yet another birthday, I’ve learned to enjoy the journey this time around.
October ended on a pretty stressful note for me as I was wrapping up my exams and assignments. In that week, I may have forgotten to take care of myself by giving myself a moment to breathe but, now that I’m finally free, here is the last set of self-love questions and answers which I’ve finally gotten to share with you.
Over the last two weeks, I’ve answered some questions about myself in a bid to rediscover myself. The journey is both exciting and nerve-wracking but I’m finding that opening up about myself in this way is therapeutic, challenging in a good way and inspiring too to the people I know personally who read my blog.
Another week of loving and discovering ourselves! We’re almost through October and I can’t wait to step into the next month renewed.
During my planning for October content, Pinterest helpfully came through with a whole bunch of self-love suggestions and prompts to help me navigate my way through the month and better explore who I am. I’m excited to be taking part in the 31 Days of Self-love challenge which I found and I’ll be sharing it with you right here, on my blog, on a weekly basis.
