The end of another week! This whole segment of my blog is honestly teaching me to appreciate each day. Slowly but surely, I’m coming to love each day for what it brings instead of having a countdown to the end of the week.
One of my recent blog posts had to do with how thoughts become things. A lot of people don’t realise the power of words so I thought to speak about affirmations as one of the other ways in which you can quickly manifest whatever you want (while also making use of methods such as visualisation and gratitude).
You’re probably sighing deeply from the title because you’re either a sceptic when it comes to love and/ or the Law of Attraction and you’ve already emotionally prepared yourself for another lonely Valentine’s Day, or you’re simply curious and want to give this a shot, or find out if this is click bait because maybe it turns out, when you get to the end of this post, that I’ll be sitting on my couch this year, once again, snuggled up with my mom while we watch some of her favourite TV shows like it’s another ordinary night, only this time, I bought loads of chocolate.
This week has been one for the books and it’s absolutely confirmed that this is going to be a good year for me as most of the things that I’d set intentions for and spent most of my time manifesting last year are beginning to take off for me.
IT’S THE MONTH OF LOVE!
For a lot of people, February is just a drag because it means that the shops are stocking up on Valentine’s day things to sell to you and you’re reminded quite bluntly that you’re the single friend while everyone has plans for February 14th and all you have, for yet another year, is your TV and a box of tissues (you could even blame my fellow Scorpios for this because apparently we created this lovely day to scam everyone into conceiving more Scorpios. I love this idea better). I really want to say that I feel your pain and that we can all virtually hold hands around an imaginary fire and sing some anti-love songs but, firstly, I’m here with a lot of self-love posts lined up for you and secondly, I’m manifesting a Valentine’s day date so I can’t cry with you this year. Sorry.
This week has been quite different for me. I’m not used to actively looking for things to be grateful for on a daily basis and this exercise has had me looking for more to be thankful for; more than pretty flowers, more than just the fact that I woke up today, more than just the fact that it rained this weekend.
This past week, the only thing pretty much flooding all my social media feeds and timelines has been Ariana Grande’s 7 Rings. As a fairly new fan of her music and her as an artist and as someone who’s fairly new to the Law of Attraction, most times that I’ve sat to listen to some of her songs’ lyrics, I’ve almost fallen off my seat because of how she’s spoken things into existence through her music or how she comes across as someone who constantly uses the Law of Attraction to bring things to fruition for herself.
Towards the end of last year, I’d tweeted about posting daily about the little things that made me smile. I feel that most times, we’re all so caught up in our daily schedules and have our faces glued to a screen so often that we hardly (almost never) stop to appreciate the little things—the cooling rains after a scorching hot day, the water that quenched your thirst, the food you had today, the bed you slept in, your pet, a pretty bird that sat outside your window recently, art… add to your daily stress, the news and how packed with negativity that is.
After spending the last twelve months counting down to the end of it, we begin the cycle all over again in 2019.
In the past, like many people, approaching the New Year meant setting resolutions. I’ve gotten over the hype around that since I don’t do too well with sticking to long-term goals but, I’ve noticed how very few people throw their spirituality into their various resolution lists.
